Imber Bus Day

Imber Bus Day

After 4x4s, the vintage bus is your author’s most fave mode of transport. That and walking. So imagine the excitement of being able to mix a 4×4 lane tour of Salisbury Plain with a chance to visit the secret village of Imber on a 1960s London Transport RM. Barely containable.

The weather was fine and the tracks dry which is just a well as we had a mint Jimny and an even minter Fiat Panda in tow. Both don’t fit in the miles of SPTA ruts and so have to straddle the furrows which is exceeding hard in the slippy winter.

The Panda was impressive as was it’s ’never been of road before’ pilot. Talk about ‘in at the deep end’.

Watch the video to see how we got on. Suffice to say – a magnificent day.
