A new tour, this is a splendid 2 day experience of the best of the epic D-Day landing sites, all visited by Chemin, or green lane. It’s a tour suitable for most 4x4s – SIVs will almost certainly be fine. Speak to us if you have any concerns.
We’ll do lots of lanes each day which are suitable for all vehicles (a couple are a bit scratchy but can be avoided) and we will pass most of the iconic locations associated with this amazing bit of history. We will stop and visit one or perhaps two sites per day with the rest of the time laning. You can then stay on if you wish and re-visit the locations that appeal.
We understand the story and the history so there will be much to see and learn. We can provide a reading list for those who want to really grasp the nature of the historic events we will be uncovering. Tide allowing, we will even drive in on one of the beaches.
Stuart and Maggie will be staying on for the more ‘athletic’ Cotentin adventure the following weekend and can recommend places to stay. Maggie speaks French and bakes a mean flapjack.
