This tour will not be accessible to some 4×4 vehicles due to their length or width or level of experience of the drivers. Please be guided by our leaders as to whether this tour would be appropriate for you – it would be very suitable preparation for our Spain or Morocco tours.
As a very experienced local, Kevin can lead you through some challenging and technical locations within the Lakes. We will drive a range of long and short byways and unclassified county roads. Some tracks are tight and have steep sections of loose rocky surfaces which need care to achieve but allow you to reach some stunning and remote locations away from the crowds.
We will attempt to secure access permits to include the Gatescarth pass within the tour, weather conditions permitting. This route is only accessible via permit on a limited number of days in the year. Only open to vehicles of 100″ wheelbase or less.Overnight stop in a local hostellerie or campsite area followed by further old classic, sometimes gnarly Lakeland ways. If you are an enthusiastic and experienced overlander this will be a wonderful way to explore the beauty of The Lakes!
