Normandy 4×4 Tour

Since my first visit in the 90’s, the drama and significance of the French Normandy coast has been a never forgotten experience. To stand where thousands fell for freedom and walk the same beaches feels like a grounding in our recent history that reframes current troubles into a much diminished perspective.

When in 2014 my son and I drove Cyd, our 1977 Land Rover lightweight, from Pegasus Bridge to St Mere Eglise, I knew this was something worth sharing. 11 years on the time had come and so June 2025 found my French speaking wife Maggie and I trialing a route that touches both history and lanes.

After hours pouring over the (really not very good) French maps we spent 3 days trying every lane and track to create a memorable tour that although majoring on the scenic lanes also passes numerous historical battle sites. It was a dramatic and moving experience and we look forward to welcoming our first clients in spring 2025. There is beauty, history, laming – and cheese.

Here’s there video we made. Do get in touch if you’d like to go on the waiting list for our first D Day Normandy 4×4 Tour, dates to be confirmed but likely late April 2026.
