SUMMARY:Normandy D-Day Laning Tour
DESCRIPTION:A new tour\, this is a splendid 2 day experience of the best of the epic D-Day landing sites\, all visited by Chemin\, or green lane. It’s a tour suitable for most 4x4s – SIVs will almost certainly be fine. Speak to  us if you have any concerns. \nWe’ll do lots of lanes each day which are suitable for all vehicles (a couple are a bit scratchy but can be avoided) and we will pass most of the iconic locations associated with this amazing bit of history. We will stop and visit one or perhaps two sites per day with the rest of the time laning. You can then stay on if you wish and re-visit the locations that appeal. \nWe understand the story and the history so there will be much to see and learn. We can provide a reading list for those who want to really grasp the nature of the historic events we will be uncovering. Tide allowing\, we will even drive in on one of the beaches. \nStuart and Maggie will be staying on for the more ‘athletic’ Cotentin adventure the following weekend and can recommend places to stay. SUMMARY:The Contentin (Cherbourg) Peninsular Adventure
DESCRIPTION:The weekend following the D-Day Tour\, this is a more challenging 2 day trip that runs from Utah Beach (which we will drive on)\, north through forest and field and scratchy tight climbs up to the hills above Cherbourg. You’ll need a vehicle with good clearance and AT tyres for this one. \nWe’ll see France’s tallest lighthouse\, a disused cold-war arms dump\, a old military airfield and some cheese. Its a beautiful and exciting trip that we really enjoy. A remarkable and memorable experience. \nGuides Maggie and Stuart will be camping and we can recommend sites if required. Maggie speaks French and we know both the area and the history well. There will be much to see and learn. SUMMARY:Wales Weekend
DESCRIPTION:If you haven’t explored Wales’ green lanes then you’re missing out. \nStunning views\, challenging terrain and long\, long lanes await those adventurers prepared to go a little further afield. We will venture from south to north up the middle of Wales\, camping each night a new place.  Real overlanding. The tour starts Friday evening with a camp near our southern starting point and ends Sunday afternoon wherever people need to start their journey home.  For anyone wanting to extend their weekend\, we will be camping Sunday night also\, hitting a few panes more before heading back south and home. \nLong lanes\, steep\, rocky climbs and descents\, it’s a route for the more adventurous four wheel drivers. Vehicles should be equipped with AT of MT tyres\, rated recovery points front and rear\, and ideally have a transfer case for low-geared driving. \nThere may be some scratching\, there may be some rain\, there will be some excitement. \nPrice includes overnight (off grid) camping Saturday evening.

SUMMARY:Devils to Horndean
DESCRIPTION:This favourite route is the most challenging day we do in the south east. \nDifficult climbs and challenging descents\, the route runs south from Hindhead towards Horndean and perhaps beyond\, and encompasses the best of the small lanes and roads north of the A3. \nAn exciting drive that will keep us on our toes as we squeeze through and bump over some strong obstacles. One of our more highly rated trips\, it is suitable for all with the proviso that scratching is almost certain and worse may be possible. (NB Mint trucks have driven this route and survived!)

SUMMARY:Midweek Coast to Coast - Cumbria to Yorkshire
DESCRIPTION:This tour will not be accessible to some 4×4 vehicles due to their length or width or level of experience of the drivers. Please be guided by our leaders as to whether this tour would be appropriate for you – it would be very suitable preparation for our Spain or Morocco tours. \nAs a very experienced local\, Kevin can lead you through some challenging and technical locations within the Lakes. We will drive a range of long and short byways and unclassified county roads. Some tracks are tight and have steep sections of loose rocky surfaces which need care to achieve but allow you to reach some stunning and remote locations away from the crowds. \nWe will attempt to secure access permits to include the Gatescarth pass within the tour\, weather conditions permitting. This route is only accessible via permit on a limited number of days in the year. Only open to vehicles of 100″ wheelbase or less.Overnight stop in a local hostellerie or campsite area followed by further old classic\, sometimes gnarly Lakeland ways. If you are an enthusiastic and experienced overlander this will be a wonderful way to explore the beauty of The Lakes!

DESCRIPTION:Another great overland destination where Kevin loved to live and now continues to explore. Starting at the Victorian spa town of Buxton near the Pavilion to share the character of this lovely area\, we will explore local lanes past the Blue John mines near Castleton and see the high peaks including Mam Tor close up. \nAfter an overnight stop in a local pub or campsite\, maybe sampling an iconic local Bakewell tart\, we will  drive past Chatsworth House in all its glory and later discover the unique history of Eyam village. \nThe lanes in the Peaks are an easily accessible location for us to drive on a variety of surfaces through a combination of narrow\, dry-stone wall bordered exploration and wide gritstone old drove roads suitable for all 4×4 vehicles. This is a great opportunity for families to start their preparation for further overland adventures. \n  \n  \n
