Long routes with great views and also great challenge that will test your vehicle and your driving skills. Includes Bomber Lane and the recently reopened Happy Valley. \nThe tour starts at Llangollen and on the Saturday\, you can camp if you wish at Black Rock sands – a beach you can drive on! \nFor the whole trip you will need good off-road type tyres and reasonable ground clearance. Wide and long vehciles may struggle on some lanes but there are bypasses. Generally open lanes but as usual some chance of scratch\, and certainly demanding on driver and vehicle. \nPrepare for an epic weekend with amazing views! \nPrice includes Maggie’s flapjacks\, camping/ accom not included.

SUMMARY:Normandy D-Day Laning Tour
DESCRIPTION:A new tour\, this is a splendid 2 day experience of the best of the epic D-Day landing sites\, all visited by Chemin\, or green lane. It’s a tour suitable for most 4x4s – SIVs will almost certainly be fine. Speak to  us if you have any concerns. \nWe’ll do lots of lanes each day which are suitable for all vehicles (a couple are a bit scratchy but can be avoided) and we will pass most of the iconic locations associated with this amazing bit of history. We will stop and visit one or perhaps two sites per day with the rest of the time laning. You can then stay on if you wish and re-visit the locations that appeal. \nWe understand the story and the history so there will be much to see and learn. We can provide a reading list for those who want to really grasp the nature of the historic events we will be uncovering. Tide allowing\, we will even drive in on one of the beaches. \nStuart and Maggie will be staying on for the more ‘athletic’ Cotentin adventure the following weekend and can recommend places to stay. SUMMARY:The Contentin (Cherbourg) Peninsular Adventure
DESCRIPTION:The weekend following the D-Day Tour\, this is a more challenging 2 day trip that runs from Utah Beach (which we will drive on)\, north through forest and field and scratchy tight climbs up to the hills above Cherbourg. You’ll need a vehicle with good clearance and AT tyres for this one. \nWe’ll see France’s tallest lighthouse\, a disused cold-war arms dump\, a old military airfield and some cheese. Its a beautiful and exciting trip that we really enjoy. A remarkable and memorable experience. \nGuides Maggie and Stuart will be camping and we can recommend sites if required. Maggie speaks French and we know both the area and the history well. There will be much to see and learn.
